Missing Idlescape? Here is an idle RPG you can play today

Idlescape's live service ended in late 2025, and its developers have announced a rebuild for Steam planned for January 2027. If you want a browser idle RPG to play in the meantime, DragonScape Idle is free, runs in a tab, and needs no download.

What will feel familiar

• Skills from level 1 to 99: gathering, production and combat, each feeding the next.
• Combat areas and dungeons with a Melee, Ranged and Magic triangle.
• Offline progress. The game replays the time you were away, with the same drop rolls and quest credit. 12 hours to start, up to 24 with permanent upgrades, and no subscription needed for it.
• In the browser on desktop or phone.

What is different

It is single-player. There is no marketplace and no shared economy. Everything you have, you gathered or made. There is a leaderboard and community events that all players contribute to.

It is free with nothing to buy. No subscription and no premium tier. Optional Patreon support gives a bigger daily gem bonus and locks no content.

No account is needed to start. Play as a guest, and sign in with Google or email later if you want a cloud save across devices.

Good to know

DragonScape Idle is made by one developer and is in open beta, so balance still changes between releases. The item and monster icons are AI-generated images. Every drop table and XP rate is public on the wiki.
